It featured an aluminum and composite double decker chassis, Traxxas TQ Radio, Pro .15 Engine with Traxxas EZ Start, and some shared components from the Nitro Rustler. Traxxas did a great job of packing the Nitro Sport with features while keeping the cost down.

The Traxxas Nitro Sport is EASILY one of my most used RC’s from my younger years. Nitro Stadium truck was defintetly one of the most exciting classes to me. The king of the class, the Team Associated RC10GT was out of reach due to its cost. Not saying it wasn’t worth the price of entry but once fully outfitted with engine and running gear the cost was up there. The Nitro Sport gave the same thrill & excitement for a fraction of the cost. Clearly the Nitro Sport will not compete with the RC10GT on a track, but not everything is about lap times.

Low cost, low maintenance, & ease of use ( RTR & EZ Start ) make the Nitro Sport an instant hit.

Traxxas made it too easy! Truck out of the box, AA’s in transmitter & receiver pack, 7.2V Stick Pack for the EZ Start, Traxxas 10% Top Fuel, & let it rip! The star of simplicity is the Traxxas EZ Start system. Before you needed a separate glow plug igniter and a starter box or pull start system. EZ start made it, well…. EZ to start the Pro .15 power plant.

You could toss the EZ start and fuel in your backpack and go blast the Nitro Sport for hours!

Blast for hours is exactly what I did with my Nitro Sport. I would walk around my neighborhood and near the park area to run this truck for hours. The best about nitro is being able to refuel and keep going with no down time besides a few seconds to fill the tank. The truck was fun, durable, and the Pro .15 was easy to tune and provided plenty of power. Combine that with very high ease of use, low maintenance, and low cost to entry. The Nitro Sport is a hit.
