Team Associated RC10 40th Anniversary

The Team Associated RC10 is the most iconic model in RC history. Released in 1984 it took the RC industry by storm. Team Associated could not keep up with demand for the new buggy!

The simplistic design made for easy assembly and maintenance. The 6 gear transmission assembly (Later replaced by the 3 gear “Stealth” transmission) could be a snagging point for some builders. But once together it spins freely and works well. The RC10 was very adjustable allowing you to tune the vehicle to the tracks surface and condition. A year after its release it won the first ever IFMAR Worlds 2WD Championship in 1985. The RC10’s instant success speaks for the design and components used. This original design won a total of 4 IFMAR World 2WD Championships (1985, 1989, 1991, & 1993) during its service life. Of course there were running changes to the model during that time, but the core design stayed the same.

While I never owned or raced an RC10. I still have respect for the design, history, and how it shaped competition RC as we know it.
